Lisa Fekete

President

The youngest daughter of Modern’s founder Gerald L. Pelletier, Fekete has great pride and commitment perpetuating and enhancing Modern’s legacy of providing interior woodworking for esteemed customers such as Tiffany & Co, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and David Yurman, to mention a few. The former Vice President of Human Resources, Lisa brings a creative and dynamic presence to the daily operations at Modern Woodcrafts. Under her current leadership MW has made significant advancements in diversifying sales, relationship building, streamlining marketing efforts and communicating her vision of integrity, empowerment, trust and simplicity. Prior to her emergence at Modern Woodcrafts, Lisa held several different positions in her career, the most important and challenging being the upbringing of her children Emma (13), Sam (12), Charlie (10) and Will (9).

Although busy with running a business and raising a family with her husband Eric, Lisa is an avid triathlete who trains year round for races across the country. She also seeks fulfillment through worthwhile organizations giving of her time and financial support to designated charities. She is a member of the Our Companions Advisory Board, an organization dedicated to leading a humane movement to protect and advocate for the lives of companion animals. Also interested in promoting charities through athletic achievements, Lisa has contributed to Team for Kids by running the NYC marathon 3 times and consecutive years participation in the Pan Mass Challenge, a 190-mile bike ride through Massachusetts promoting research for Dana Farber. She has also participated in several other road and bike races supporting charities such as The Hole in the Wall Gang, Diabetes, and Alzheimer’s to name a few.

Peter Spring

Sales Executive

As a long standing member of the Modern Woodcrafts management team, Peter brings decades of experience to our sales and estimating efforts today. His attention to detail and accuracy, and his ability to work with our customers to develop their design concept into a cost effective reality has had a profound impact on the 50 year success of the company. Peter’s high ethical standards and his emphasis on building relationships has been a true reflection of our company’s culture first set forth by Gerald L. Pelletier. In his free time, Peter enjoys kayaking and biking with his wife Judy.

John LaPre

Vice President of Project Management

John started in the architectural woodworking industry in 1990 with Modern Woodcrafts. Previous years were spent with residential millwork and kitchens. John started on the shop floor and quickly became a team leader learning all phases of a project, including millwork, glass, metal, lighting, and installation. From there he was promoted to the Engineering Department where he has met the challenges of programming software, take offs, AutoCAD and Purchasing. His experience made him a perfect fit to transition into Project Management where he has been able to meet the very demanding schedules of retail projects, while still giving the full attention to detail our customers need and have come to expect from Modern Woodcrafts. John is now Vice President of Project Management overseeing all projects while mentoring our Project Management team. John’s greatest successes are his two sons; Eric who has gone on to excel in law school and John, Jr presently employed in the Engineering Department at Modern Woodcrafts.

Cindi Haire

Director of Administration

Cindi joined the Modern Woodcrafts team in November of 2007 bringing with her over 25 years of experience in administrative organization, mostly in the manufacturing environment. Believing strongly in a team approach, Cindi has helped Modern move forward with lean initiatives, streamlining and fine tuning a dynamic administrative staff that already possessed a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Aligning today’s technology and the personal strengths of her team, Cindi has been instrumental in helping Modern stay on track toward achieving current business goals. Her friendly and outgoing personality makes her the perfect first contact our customers and vendors have when reaching out to Modern Woodcrafts. Anyone who comes in contact with Cindi quickly realizes that she loves being a part of the staff at Modern Woodcrafts.

Gerald L. Pelletier

Founder, Chairman Emeritus

Truly an icon in the industry, Pelletier never wavered from his original commitment to excellence during Modern Woodcrafts growth from a simple garage shop to one of the leading and most respected manufacturers of retail and commercial architectural interiors. As an industry leader, he advocated the highest level of business practices; hire the best people, use the latest equipment, treat each customer as if they are you’re only customer, and keep a positive attitude, and these principles remain, despite the ongoing challenges of business today. Pelletier continues to stay involved in daily operations on a consultant basis. Although he does not engage in the details of all projects, he has a firm grasp on the pulse of today’s business.

Joe Legere

Executive Vice President

New to Modern Woodcrafts in 2006, Joe’s responsibilities include management of the day to day operations. He has oversight of purchasing, engineering, fabrication, project management and installation. All production and installation scheduling is managed by Joe where he monitors his teams to ensure that schedules and quality benchmarks are met. Joe has been involved with woodworking and installations for over 20 years. His knowledge of wood engineering, IT systems development, CNC machinery, and LEAN offer expertise that is called upon often in Modern Woodcrafts journey of continuous improvement. Joe enjoys the daily changes of balancing work and his family which includes his wife Jennifer and their three young children Wesley (8), Lily (6), & Lucas (3).

Jim Copes

Director of Estimating

Greg Clark

Director of Purchasing

Greg was born and raised in New England, his career started out as a sail boat captain in Greenwich, CT and spent a lot of time traveling and racing from Maine to the Caribbean. His enjoyment of sailing later led to Newport, RI where he started a general contracting business that specialized in historic renovations and yacht interior remodeling. In the early 90’s he transitioned to architectural millwork as a Project Manager, then Director of Operations, and Vice President of Marketing, eventually moving to Modern Woodcrafts as Director of Purchasing. Additionally during that time he attended night school and has acquired a Business and Juris Doctorate degree. On weekends he can still be found on his boat sailing and trying to race anyone out there, whether they know it or not.

Scott Thibodeau

Plant Manager

Scott is responsible for the day to day production in the plant, as well as continuous improvement through LEAN Manufacturing practices. It’s his responsibility to oversee the shop team leaders to ensure all of our customer’s products are of the highest quality standards and deadlines are met. he has over 13 years of professional experience in the woodworking industry as a second generation woodworker. From working on the shop floor, to drafting and engineering as well as project management positions, Scott has a well rounded knowledge of this industry. Scott enjoys his free time with his wife, Jennylynn and his passion for Harley Motorcycles. He’s also an Eagle Scout and a fire officer for his community fire department.

Pat Kirkpatrick

Director of Bussiness Develpment

Prior to joining Modern Woodcrafts, Pat spent the first part of his career in visual merchandising, retail design, and retail construction; designing, purchasing, and furnishing retail department store projects. For the past 15 years, he has worked in the retail store fixture industry providing quality store fixtures for a wide variety of retail environments. His career in retail design, retail construction, and fixture manufacture provides him with a unique foundation on which to build the legacy of the next-generation of architectural interiors.

Pat began his retail career with Belk Stores in Charlotte NC, continued his career with Mercantile Stores in Nashville TN, and Macy’s (Federated DS) in Atlanta GA. He has been President of the Atlanta chapter of the Retail Design Institute, and has been active in the effort to build the organization.

Pat is also an active member of USTA, and competes on the city and state level. He enjoys spending time with his family and any sports activity.
